Nana

Nana Sahagun is from Chicago IL, born and raised on the side of Chicago in the  Gage Park neighborhood. Nana has been teaching dance fitness since 2018 and is certified in several formats: MixxedFit, Zumba and PomSquad Fitness. in 2022 Nana officially became MixxedFit National Trainer of Illinois and has hosted 5 trainings to date. Her creative background consists of a wide variety of artistry such as painting, sketching, DIY projects —and more. Her dance background ranges from early childhood pom squad teams, dance teams, 3-year-captain college dance team, musical theater and now dancing, performing, and teaching all over the city of Chicago. Nana has secured a seasonal contract with one of Chicago’s largest tourist attractions, Navy Pier, where she teaches free outdoor dance fitness classes to the public ranging between 50-100 people. Due to her Theater & Dance background, Nana has fallen in love with Dance Fitness as a form of self-expression. She exudes passion while teaching and finds it as a source of mental & emotional healing. Her style of dance is all about how it makes you feel - It’s an exhilarating, effective, easy-to-follow, an overall calorie-burning Dance party! Her classes allow everyone to find  joy in working out while also advancing you to a better, healthier, you. 

POP Pilates / Yoga (RYT 200) / Barre

Sofia

Sofia was born and raised in the Pilsen and Berwyn areas. She started teaching fitness in 2023 and has since completed three certification programs. Sofia is a certified POP Pilates, 200-Hour Registered Yoga Teacher, and Barre Eclipse Instructor. She has been practicing Pilates since 2015 and Yoga since 2020 and has since fallen in love with mat-based fitness. Sofia is passionate about changing narratives focused on body aesthetics and dieting culture and instead honoring each individual's felt experience in her classes. Fitness has been a source of empowerment, relaxation, reflection, and constant growth for her alongside her studies. She completed a dual-degree Bachelor in Arts, studying English and Spanish, which informs her passion for literature, writing, and connecting and understanding communities better. She also worked in Event Services for four years, assisting with management and facilitation. Sofia danced throughout high school and college in forms that include Contemporary, Jazz, Reggaeton, and Heels. She continues to immerse herself in the joy of the dance community.
